nder 10.000 revs, the engine lost most of its power, so it required a leaden foot to keep going. The turbo felt asthmatic, unable to spool up and grant the much needed grunt to the vehicle. With this engine as the only option, it was clear it would never sell well: Although the chassis was excellent, and purists praised the handling, getting up to speed on the freeway, or driving along a hilly road, proved to be chore, and did not instil any pleasure.

This was unacceptable for such a price, and those interested waited longingly for when the much-needed would arrive.
